1954 Norton Big Four, 600cc tele rigid.

This is a fine , matching numbers example of Norton big 600cc single sidevalve the "BIg Four".

A great sidecar machine it its day but I reckon just about as great a British old single as you could hope to find for everyday solo classic motorcycling.

A nice easy starter with mechanically quiet engine this 600cc single pulls like a train through the gears but is smooth and comfortable and feels a lot more sophisticated than you might imagine for a 600 single.

Gears and clutch and brakes are all excellent, Speedometer is working nicely albeit a modern copy of Smiths chronometric. The charging system is working well with good lights on a 12volt system. Lights have been changed to modern LED type which significantly reduces the load on the dynamo.

Wheel rims & spokes are CWC stainless. Excellent genuine sidestand fitted

All in all a beautiful used and very sweet running matching numbers example with V5C doc, Historic vehicle, MOT exempt.
