1958 Matchless G9, 500cc

Here is a very well presented 1958 Matchless G9 with original engine & frame.

It starts well and runs well but has obviously been fitted with quite high compression pistons. This makes operating the kick-starter more difficult (although it does start readily).

The bikes goes really well. In fact it seem to go as well as a 650! There is some piston noise, not too bad probably as a result of the high compression. I would recommend going back to standard pistons.
