1961 AJS 31CSR, 650cc

One of the top sporting 650's of the Golden Cafe Racer era - The AJS 31CSR. These sporting roadster were developed by the competition shop at AMC from the CS models. In 58 the competition shop turned out some successful 600cc scramblers which were offered with the option of a  large road going tank. In 59 the model was offered as the CSR and was one of the prettiest and most iconic sportsters of its day.

This example is in great condition. It has been well used and is not pristine but starts and runs beautifully sounds perfect mechanically. No smoke.

It rides beautifully, handles well brakes well, (note excellent TLS front brake conversion). Charging system is working well with recently rebuilt dynamo and modern AO solid state regulator. Ignition is from BTH electronic, stand alone magneto. I believe this is contributing to the smoothness and sweet running of this engine. Don't miss the superb rider's bike CSR. Comes with V5c , Historic tax etc.
