1965 Norton ES2 MKII, 500cc

Here is a very and sought after Norton ES2 MKII. This is another Great British exercise in "Badge Engineering", the exact model was more commonly badged as an AJS  or Matchless, but as ES2 MKII for the Norton die-hards.

In fact although it was a mash up of Norton & AJS /Matchless parts they produced a very good, vey strong a reliable and fast 500cc single.

Unfortunately AMC had left it too late in bringing the stronger competition short-stroke design into play in order to modernise / improve the old cooking single format. It really was too little too late but in retrospect these are great classics, even though they were already outdated in their day.

A practical and very strong short stroke engine with much improved bottom end to early touring models.

Good electrics superb handling and brakes.

This example is in lovely useable condition. It has matching original engine & frame numbers. It was first registered in 1971 but has since been assigned a 1966 D plate. V5C, historic tax MOT exempt.

Don't miss this rare and collectable Norton ES2 MKII. I think it's the only one I've ever seen in the flesh let alone had through my hands!
