1961 TRIUMPH T120R Bonneville, beautiful £11000

1961 Triumph Bonneville T120R 650cc

Professionally restored Bonneville, in pristine condition

Here is a fantastic opportunity to obtain a professionally restored T120R Bonneville , from the most sought after year - 1961.

It's rare to find examples restored to this standard and actually available to buy, usually you have to find a project then pay to get it restored.

This superb machine was restored about 5 years ago by Magpie Motorcycles of Coventry and has been completely rebuilt from top to bottom. Since then it has only done just over 300 miles.

There is very little to say about the condition of this bike. It is how you would have expected to see them in the showrooms in '61.

Starting is very easy, the engine springs to life and sounds wonderful. It ticks over perfectly on the well balanced, new Amal twin monoblocs.

The bike pulls very well as you would expect for this state of the art 60's sports roadster.

When you think of the top 60's Classic bikes, the 61 Bonnie is joint top of the list along with Rocket Goldies, Goldies & 650SS Nortons. Arguably the Bonneville was the fastest, strongest and prettiest of them all! That's why it has achieved such iconic status!

Needless to say, this bike handles beautifully, the duplex frame being a big improvement on 50's Triumphs. Brakes are excellent. Lights and electrics all A1, with a very good charge. Gearbox & Clutch also in A1 condition with very easy and positive gear selection. Smith's Chronometric speedometer & rev counter are both fully restored and in A1 condition.

There is a V5C with. Frame number is D7735

Engine number is T120R D7735.

The bike has a V5C registration document, registration is 774 XUP (cannot be transferred to another vehicle)

There is a full MOT test certificate valid until March 2010 and historic class (free) road tax valid until 28-02-10.

According to the factory records this bike left the factory on 14th September 1960, bound for Triumph USA distributors.

Cosmetically the bike is pretty well perfect. I haven't found any scratches or marks at all. The wheel rims are made in England, and still as new. Spokes are unpolished Stainless. Paintwork was all done by Dream Machine and is beautiful!

Don't miss this outstanding example of one of the most famous and beautiful bikes ever made! A fantastic investment as well as a lovely machine to own and enjoy!
